Want to be happy, healthy, and balanced mentally and spiritually? Sounds like you’re looking for a life of abundance. But how do you begin? when you develop abundance you need both internal changes and external actions. It begins with an open examination of yourself and your life as it is now and a willingness to heal the hurts in your life so you can begin to discover positive opportunities and experiences. It won’t always be easy, but it is worth the work.
If it seems like you’re always unhappy about some part of your life, that’s a clue your life is lacking in abundance. Abundance is about much more than money and possessions. Many people have more than they need in those areas, yet they don’t know how to be happy. Everyone has heard stories of the lonely old rich man who only wanted one true friend or love. For them, it wasn’t about the ’stuff,’ and abundance never is about that. Lots of wealthy people are sad, lonely, worried, and miserable.
In starting to develop abundance, then, needs to start with the way life is approached including beliefs, thinking patterns and emotional habits. If a person is willing to change the way they think (and speak) about things and to develop mature and positive emotional responses, they can turn their life around.
The universe in which we live creates abundance every minute of every hour. We all live in that same universe, but not all of us see or enjoy the abundance that is there. The first step is to recognize that the abundance is there, then one can begin to open one’s mind towards it. The things that hide abundance from us, and blind us to its existence are: unresolved problems, feelings of anxiety or guilt, bad temper, shame, jealousy; all negative emotions that deny the opportunity to experience abundance.
No one can truly achieve a life of abundance if they do not honestly examine their past and heal the hurt they are still holding inside. Many people around the world continue to suffer, long after the original tragedy or trauma that shook them to the core has passed on. Those events elicited negative feelings and emotions and faulty beliefs and the baggage they carry from those events continues to cause them pain. They will remain stuck until they learn to release the past, forgive, and let themselves live the abundant life they really deserve.
Developing abundance is in fact developing one’s self. We need to analyze the way that we think, the way that we react to events as they unfold. We need to spot the patterns that our past behavior has fallen into, and we need to be ready to change those patterns, to heal past hurts and open the door to abundance.
Change is never easy. But in today’s modern society there are many ways that help can be gained. Things like CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), applied kinesiology and EFT are all methods currently being exploited by people in various walks of life. The essential basic to being able to develop abundance in your life is being determined to do so and to persevere.
But changing the inner person is in itself not enough. We have to see and shape the things that are going on around us. We need to be positive and develop a plan for progressing with our move from where we are now into a position of abundance.
So creating an abundant life relies on both external action and also introspective healing and reprogramming of your thoughts. There are people who are good at the goal setting and achievement part, but they live in opposition to their internal belief system and core values. Or perhaps their values and beliefs aren’t conducive to a harmonious life. To attract true abundance means you must look at every aspect of your life and make the necessary adjustments.
Developing abundance is a worthwhile goal. It’s not selfish to live an abundant life. In fact, it enables people to be generous to others and frees them from self-focus necessary when struggling to survive. The process of developing abundance usually takes some time, but it is a satisfying journey that transforms individuals and their communities.

I like the part about successfully resolving past issues in order to achieve abundance. I think that’s really true. If we’re not careful, the past can be our master and that can really be a roadblock to prosperity.
